walk with clouds, 2026

running shoes with rubber soles, dried mesquite branches, chachalaca feather, hair and mesquite block with laser engravings

A rolling dice with six directional prompts gets tossed and lands on "walk with clouds".  I walk the nightscape following the gray clouds aimlessly blowing south.  As I walk, I notice the thorns piercing through the sole of my shoes.  They stick out beyond the length of my foot and make it difficult to walk in. Upon removing my shoes, I light up the objects I have gathered: a chachalaca feather, hair and several mesquite branches.  Small. fractions of larger beings that are no longer moving, but siting fragmented on the top soil of a degraded landscape.
